Theres so many ideas on events that could be done and we would like to offer you the perfect place for them – the Elven Forest. This could be a one time event or be done at regular intervals – its up to you and only limited by your imagination.

What we can provide for you:

• advertise your events in SLs event listings
• announce them to Elven Forest Group with more than 1500 members
• get the perfect surrounding in a beautiful nature environment

Our management team will be happy to assist you in organizing your event. Please have in mind that it should fit to the overall theme of the sim and that you need an approval from management first. We will assist you in providing and finding a place to set up your event, set up music streams for you, advertise your events and whatever else is needed.

Please just get in contact with our Event Manager ClaudiaMarja Magic or with Voy Sands and tell them what, where and when you like to do.

We are currently seeking some people who would like to support the Elven Forest as part of the security team. So if you like to spend some of your time at one of Sls favorite spots – the Elven Forest – and would like to be part of those who preserve the quietness and peace at the forest, then please get in contact with Voy Sands to receive an application form.

It would be helpful if you already worked as part of the security at other places, or if you own land and know how the land tools work – like ejecting/banning/returning griefer objects/group chat moderation. This is no must though, our management team will be happy to give you an introduction to these as well.

New Guards will be added to a board at the telehub indicating their online status and offering visitors the possibilty to open their profiles by clicking on the signs – to be asked for help when a griefer is around for instance, or maybe to answer some basic questions from newbies as well, like where to get wings or fantasy clothing, spells and such. We expect you to listen to their requests and answer them if possible or at least redirect them to one of the other guards or managers.

Upon applying as an Elven Forest Guard you will receive an FAQ List which will guide you and answer your most asked questions. Plus theres a team of about 15 other guards and 5 managers including the owner who will help and assist you in your new assignment.

We dont expect you to spend more time than before at the forest, though we would appreciate if you have a look around whenever your online time permits you. Unfortunately we cant offer you some compensation for your work as a guard right now, since Elven Forest is completely non-profit oriented.

Hello everyone … just wanted to wish you all a happy new year and say thank you for visiting Elven Forest over the holidays more than before again. We had some traffic peaks right after christmas where we hit the 26,000 again and stayed well above 20k for a few days – see attached statistics which counts the average number of visitors per sl hour. At some days it did get quite busy with about 30 visitors per hour – sorry for all the lag issues which you experienced at that time.

Lag seems to be still the no.1 issue which we will adress during the next months to make your stay at the forest even more comfortable. But since we’re already running quite low on scripts time and use only limited amount of textures and flex stuff at the forest, theres only few ways to further reduce the lag. The major amount of lag is still caused by the number of avs being simultaneously in the region – which we’re not going to limit yet. Second would be the large amount of objects which are being used at the forest, which we will have to work on soon. Lately we had times at which more than 13000 prims were in use out of 15k in total. Most of them at the center area, which causes the clients a lot of load time and which in results in lag due to this. You can help yourself by reducing your draw distance or graphics detail, which reduces lag instantly due to the lesser amount of objects being handled by the client. Though this wont influence the lag caused by other avs in the region. I already reduced the amount of overall objects again to slightly above 12,000 … some may have noticed the grass bein gone and also the winter season has ended, so the ice rink has gone as well. I will try to reduce total amount of objects furthermore and hope that as a result lag gets better as well.

• aaaaannddd … the most important new feature – you can now GET GROUPTAGS directly from the bots!! YAYYY!! Just click the grouptags signs below the main “join group” sign and get your tag instantly added to your roles. Read here on how to make your grouptag visible afterwards.
